Mansour Jahani - Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received a letter from the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, emphasizing the development and expansion of economic cooperation between the United States and the Kurdistan Region to strengthen common interests. In his letter, Mr. Rubio commended President Nechirvan Idris Barzani for his role in reopening of the pipeline between Iraq and Türkiye, which enables the export of oil from the Kurdistan Region, and welcomed the initiative.

In the letter, Secretary Rubio also expressed his appreciation for President Nechirvan Barzani’s ongoing efforts to promote dialogue between Türkiye and the PKK, as well as his commitment to fostering peace and stability in Syria. Mr. Rubio emphasized that the enduring partnership between the United States and the Kurdistan Region is essential for ensuring stability and progress, and stated: “Your leadership and constructive engagement reflect the kind of responsible statesmanship that advances peace and cooperation.”
